Oxnard College Soccer Coach Mike Scanlon is used to success. In 1995 his Moorpark College Women's Soccer team won the Western State Conference Championship, and in 1994 at Moorpark High School, his boy's team won the CIF Championship. Because of Scanlon's success as a coach, major universities have recruited many of his players.

A 1980 graduate of California State University, Northridge, with a degree in Psychology, Scanlon has his Masters degree in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University. Coach Scanlon was "Coach of the Year" in 1991, 1992 and 1993 while at Moorpark High School. In 1995 he was "College Coach of the Year" while at Moorpark College. In 2000 he was again "College Coach of the Year" in his current position at Oxnard College.

"I am constantly striving to develop the student athlete at Oxnard College, to make them more attractive to the four year programs in the NCAA and NAIA. I have a professional coaching staff with Mark Tietjen and Aaron Linder as top notch assistants" said Scanlon. "I am a player's coach, and I pay special attention to all my athletes both on and off the field of play."
